My Story;

I'm an autistic, disabled content creator known on the internet as Purple Ella. Over the last ten years my health has slowly deteriorated and I finally received a diagnosis of hEDS in Sep 2019. hEDS is a connective tissue disorder and I experience gastro symptoms, joint pain and fatigue (as well as many other random symptoms like headaches and anxiety).

I work hard to maintain my mobility, doing daily physiotherapy, and taking a short walk with my dog every day. Unfortunately once I've done those things I'm out of energy for any walking for the rest of the day. As a Mum of three naturally there is a lot more walking required each day.

I started using crutches a few years ago, but now I feel I need something that will help me better preserve the little energy I have allocated each day. My physiotherapist has suggested that a mobility scooter could help me to manage my energy and pain better.

What I'm crowdfunding for;

I need a mobility scooter. So I purchased a mobility scooter (the one in the picture, it's a Pioneer from Middletons) and then realised I can't afford it (the bank told me). I was looking to return it but people who appreciate my work online suggested crowdfunding. To tell the truth the idea of crowdfunding is mortifying to me, but I'm learning to ask for help and this is me asking for help.

The scooter costs £1600 and I can find £500 to put towards it, so I'm crowdfunding for the remaining £1000 (I know it's £1100 but I preferred the even number as a goal).

Please don't stretch yourself to donate but if you can afford to help a little I would appreciate it. Thank you.
