I'm asking for help in raising enough money to allow me to achieve my lifetime goal of studying an MRes in maritime history. I'm a recent graduate of the University of Hull, and am currently studying for a Masters of Research in history at the aforementioned university.
I was diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder and depression last year, and as a result my dissertation deadline was extended to allow for these mental health issues. My funding from my student loan has run out, and my savings account, which I have been living off since the funding ran out last September, is almost depleted. I do have a part time job as a notetaker, working with students at the university, which covers my living expenses, but not my continuation fees. I am asking for help in paying my continuation fees, required to be able to access the university's facilities and allow me to complete my degree.
I ambe specialising in maritime history, and the primary focus of my research will be the city of Hull's role during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars. These wars have been covered in great detail by many before, though Hull's role has only been considered and study a couple of times. The port city was a thriving mercantile port, and was one of the largest (in terms of land size and profitability) in the country, yet very little has been studied on Hull's role during the period 1793-1815. It is my ambition to study this period, and evaluate Hull's role and success in its actions; I am very confident that the city had a large impact in these wars, through the impress of its men and the provisions it supplied through victualling contracts.
I've been passionate about history for as long as I can remember, and it is my ambition to be able to complete a Masters in history. Please, if you can, help me raise enough money to allow me to afford to stay in Hull and obtain this degree. If you have any questions or queries, or simply want a friendly conversation, I am more than happy for you to get in contact with me via email. If you can find it in you to donate anything, I will be forever grateful to you.
