Hi Guys. I am the owner of the "Gran Torino" Cafe & Takeaway based in Tynecastle, just a few steps from Tynecastle Arms. I recently had an inspection from the Health & Safety Dept. and they told me I need to fix many issue or I will close permantly my business in 6/8 weeks. The problem is that the Landord and the previously tenant didn't care about the property and when I rented out the shop I discovered many problems and damages. Actually the Landord doesn't want to pay for anything but I dunno why I have to pay for something I didn't break or check. Anyway, I have to pay by myself all the issues (not caused by me) as written in the Lease but at the moment I don't have all that money. I please ask help to all my customer and not, all people living in Gorgie Rd and all Edinburgh. I am an Italian immigrant and I'd like to have the chanche to run my own business properly. I take care about the community and my customers serving every day coffee, tea, paninis,breakfast rolls, baguettes and also Italian specialities. I need to raise the money to:
1 - Fix a hand washing basin in the front shop with hot and cold running water ( as required by law ) cost aprox. £ 360
2 - Repair the kitchen ventilation system ( extractor fan ) or fix a new one - cost aprox. £ 500/1000
3 - Check the electrical system and replace many sockets and cables - cost aprox. £ 500
4 - Repair the shop ceiling ( replace pannels ) cost aprox £ 100
5 Other minor fixing ( entrance door locker, accension display fridge button, re-painting front shop walls, boiler inspection ( as required by law) , fire system inspection etc...
The entire cost should be around £ 2000 but can be higher or a little bit lower.
