This November's by-election for University and Scotforth Rural is extremely important as students have a chance to make our voices heard and continue the impressive track record of previous Labour Councillors for this ward by electing Fabiha Askari for University and Scotforth Rural.
From taking on dodgy student landlords to playing a leading role in Lancaster City Council's declaration of a climate emergency, Labour's University ward Councillors have always stood up for the interests of students and played an important role in the direction of our city.
We need your help in making sure we can win this seat for Labour and keep our campaign running for the whole election period. While we are the largest political society on campus, we do not charge membership fees, so we need to raise funds independently for our campaign.
Please give what you can to a young socialist candidate in a unique ward that is majority students, encompassing the entire of Lancaster University campus, and help keep campus red!
Donations to a political party are regulated by the Political Parties Elections and Referendums Act 2000. By making a donation on crowdfunder to Lancaster University Labour Club’s campaign fund , I understand and accept the following:
- If I donate more than £500, checks will be made to ensure my name is listed on the UK electoral register (excluding the Channel Islands and Isle of Man).
- I must use my own funds to make a donation.
- Donations are not tax-deductible.
The money will be used purely to run the by-election campaign for University and Scotforth Rural ward.
