Help Getting Back to Employment

Acquiring formal wear to attend job interviews.

We did it!

On 5th Apr 2017 we successfully raised £10 with 1 supporter in 14 days

Firstly: if you are reading this, I thank you sincerely for your time.

Due to a mental health crisis, I found myself homeless for three years. After incredible help from local community based mental health services, I am now living in a bedsit - a safe space which I am extraordinarily grateful for. I am currently on Jobseekers Allowance, and I am, without cessation, searching for employment, of any kind.

However, after paying my amenities, and my (luckily) small weekly contribution towards my rent, I am left with £11.00 per week for food, toiletries, etc.

I am in no way suggesting that things should be easy whilst on government benefits, and believe me when I say I am fully aware of the stigma, which is fueling my ambitions to get back into full time employment and be part of the world again - and I'm almost there! There's just one hurdle: I honestly don't have the money to buy formal wear for job interviews.

I have attended two interviews so far in clothing that I am woefully ashamed of, and bungled both these interviews due to the shame of my presentation.

I am so close. I understand my status and position in society, and I am doing everything to change it. I do not drink, or smoke, and I purchase only the cheapest of everything (God Bless LIDL)!

In that spirit, I am hoping I can obtain:

One pair of black shoes, Shoe Zone, for £9.99

One pair of trousers, Primark, for £5.00

One long black coat, Primark, for £23.00

Many, many thanks.
