A few months ago my dad was admitted to the hospital due to severe back issues that we believed to be Sciatica, which wasn't the case... It turned out to be Degenerative spinal syndrome and because it had gone unnoticed for so long, L2 and L3 of his lower spine had completely slipped out of place an were damaged beyond repair.
An operation to salvage what they could was undertook the same night and he spent a month or so in Addenbrookes hospital post surgery, he was then moved to Southend hospital where he remained for a month an a half and finally as of two weeks ago, was moved to Stanmoore rehab center.
Unfortunately the latest MRI has shown that his spine isn't looking good and his rehabilitation has been switched from walking, to adapting to life in a wheelchair (the MRI showed a result of C11 Asia score C and a condition known as Cauda equina syndrome).
As he'll be spending the foreseeable future in a wheelchair myself and mum would like to make it as comfortable and accessible as possible for him. We thank you dearly for your time spent reading this and any possible donations
