Help feed 5 families for a month
We did it
On 7th May 2020 we successfully raised £730 with 17 supporters in 14 days

Please help to feed 5 families who have lost their income due to COVID19. I am hoping to raise £110 per family. Thank you :)

New stretch target

The more money we raise, the more families we can help.

I know that everyone is facing fear, stress and uncertainty with the worldwide pandemic. However, I can't help but feel like I need to try and help some people who are very close to my heart and are struggling to get their basic needs met.

I would really like your help to help us support 5 families. £110 can keep each of these families fed for a month whilst they're unable to work. They have lost most or all of their income due to the coronavirus crisis. South Africa is on its 5th week of heavy lockdowns.

Child grants in SA are about £20 a month per child, which is obviously very little, and these grants are only available to South African citizens, but it is estimated that there are over 500,000 undocumented migrants living there, most fled there as a result of instability in their own countries.

Here are the families we can help:

* Leliswa is a single mom, she lives in an informal settlement in Khayelitsha with her two lovely children. She used to work 2 days a week as a cleaner for different families. Before the COVID19 crisis she was struggling, but now she can't work at all.

*Marshall and his brother are the happiest Zimbabweans you'll ever meet, they are both married and have 4 gorgeous boys between them. Before the lockdown Marshall worked as a car guard in Cape Town city centre. Neither Marshall or his brother have an income now, they're waiting for the businesses to open so that they can work.

*Sunday, also from Zim has 3 beautiful children, before lockdown Sunday was doing building work, he had a little bit of savings, but he told me that him and his family are eating once a day and trying to stretch the money because he doesn't know when he will get back to work.

*Lisa is a home carer and her husband works in construction, they have a two young teenagers. Lisa has lost her income and her husband is only getting paid half of his salary until lockdown ends.

How will the money be distributed?

I've kept in contact with each family over the years. So any money raised I'll deposit directly into their bank accounts.  I have a south African bank account so it's easy enough to get the money to them.

If you can help, even a small amount will help, thank you :)
