I am standing for election on May 5th to be the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for the Avon and Somerset Police force.

I am the Liberal Democrats candidate. To be able to conduct a campaign I need to raise funds to pay for literature, posters and other electionerering expenses. I am hoping to raise £2,500 to be able to get my message across to the public. Ideally I have a stretch target of £7,500 to enable me to effectively get my message across.

My themes are

1. Reduce the rising trend of crime in our area.

2. Improve the crime clear-up rate which has worsened over the last 3 years.

3. To work with other agencies to ensure that people surffering mental health problems are treated with the appropriate services and do not simply end up in the criminal system.

4. Provide strong leadership and end the rotating chair for the Chief of Police which has seen 6 different Chiefs in the first term of the current PCC

5. Reduce the bureaucracy surrounding the post of PCC

6. Increase the visibility of our police force and halt the closures of town centre police stations.
