South Suffolk has for too long been regarded as a safe Conservative seat.
But in the past few years, Green Party campaigners like Robert Lindsay have been very active, listening to residents and working hard for them to provide an independent voice in the sea of blue where our elected Conservative representatives are told how to vote and what to do by their party chiefs. Back in 2017, Robert's year-round hard work allowed him to become the first Green in South Suffolk to be elected to Suffolk County Council.
Then this May in the Babergh District council elections, Green Party candidates picked up 23% of the votes, second only to the Conservative Party. Nearly one in four people voted Green. As a result four Greens, including Robert were elected to Babergh District Council and are already making a difference, ensuring the council is doing what it can to tackle the climate crisis while still looking after residents.
Now there is a snap General Election we have the chance to run the strongest campaign possible.
Unlike other parties, we do not have big corporate donors or unions to prop us up, or influence how we behave. We rely on the support of ordinary members and supporters, so any donation you can offer means a huge amount!
£5 could buy 50 Green posters to go up in people's windows
