Help me to raise £10,000 to get college leavers into employment and receive a reward of luxury spa treatments or up to 25% off all treatments for a year or even both.
I have been a beauty therapist for 15 years and have spent the last 10 of those years teaching beauty therapy to College students of all ages.
When I left college I remember how hard it was to get into working life, along with the students I studied with.
I would like to give something back to the community and help these students get into the work place without the worry of being told they “don’t have salon experience and therefore will not be offered the job”.
I am hoping to be able raise the funds in order to create a high end salon and training Academy that provides a full range of treatments within the Beauty industry, whilst at the same time employing young people and college leavers giving them the best start in their career. As a qualified teacher I will also be providing short courses covering all aspects of beauty for people who maybe not be able to go to college full time due to Work commitments, children, etc. All courses will be certificated by an awarding body meaning students will be fully qualified in that subject area.
I would also help provide work experience Opportunities for College students. This is now a mandatory part of a beauty course with students having to do 30 hours work experience within the Academic year. From first hand experience I know what a struggle it can be to find a placement.
I will also offer apprenticeship opportunities to anyone wanting to go into the industry but also wants to earn as they learn.
