Throughout his 14 year professional boxing career, Cello 'Dangerous' Renda has consistently delivered two things - passion and excitement!! 2015 was a good year for Cello (who made it to his second Prizefighter final live on Sky Sports) but 2016 is going to be even better.
On Saturday 5th March Cello will be back in the ring fighting Ben Wilkes in an eliminator for the English title. This fight will be live on Sky Sports as part of the undercard orgainised by world-renowned promoter Eddie Hearn.
Winning this fight will give Cello an opportunity later in the year to fight for the English title, and he needs your help.
Whilst juggling a full time job, which sees him coach boxing to disadvantaged youngsters, Cello still manages to get plenty of training hours in.
The level of coaching required to win an English title however comes at a cost. In order to become the best athlete, you need to surround yourself with the best coaches. Each week Cello will be travelling as far afield as Birmingham and Norwich to work with some of the best coaches around.
In order to make this happen there are inevitable costs for travel expenses, 1:2:1 coaching and kit/equipment.
The £2000 we are trying to raise will cover part of the costs that will otherwise be incurred by Cello himself.
In return for your generous donations there are some rewards available:
Anyone contributing £10 or more will received a personal thank you message from Cello himself (on twitter, facebook, email or a phone call if you prefer!!)
Anyone contributing £25 or more will receive a personally signed photograph of Cello.
Whoever makes the biggest contribution between now and 1st March will receive a free ticket to the fight on Saturday 5th March.
Whether you are close to Peterborough and want to help this local legend become an English champion, or whether you are based anywhere else in the world and just want to see some explosive boxing then please contribute whatever you can afford and be part of what is going to an awesome year.
