The global COVID-19 pandemic has severely affected BucketRace's ability to deliver it's services to its client. Due to the uniqueness of my business, it has fallen into a financial black hole and been ineligible for any of the government's funding programs. BucketRace has received no relief on its business outgoings and my team and I are currently at a critical impasse concerning the future.
BucketRace's main services are 'scavenger hunts with a twist'. Essentially we deliver in-person, bespoke, points-based games, that interact with the culture, themes, and styles of the locations they're run in.
Just before the pandemic, we invested heavily in delivering a new version of our games, with theatrical, character hosts. However, once the lockdown started all of our sales scheduled for the summer were canceled and our events were unable to go ahead.
To keep the business afloat during the pandemic I've had to take out a variety of loans and invest a large sum of my own money. This money has gone towards paying our monthly running costs as well as adapting the business to run online games.
Soon BucketRace will have to repay it's loans, on top of the normal running costs and it could leave the business unable to cope financially.
The good news is that we now have the skeleton for our online games and we can offer a reduced service to our clients. So with a little help and a small contribution of financial aid we should be able to pay off our debt, pay our running costs, get back on our feet and ride out the pandemic wave.
