Aim is Stem Cell Treatment for paralysis and dibilitating life threatening conditions keeping him bed bound for 2 years in excruciating pain

by Chrisdiner Garvey in

On 2nd September I will be jumping out of a plane at 15000 ft which I’m terrified about , but its nothing compared with what Brookin has to go through everyday. Please help me to raise money towards Brookins medical treatment, that he so desperately needs.

Brookins story.

Brookin Johnson, was tragically left paralysed in March 2016 and brave mum, Jackie Rainbird, has launched a campaign to raise vital funds in the hope of seeing her son walk again.

Brookin, of Gosfield, was left paralysed from the chest down after neurological spinal complications following a road traffic incident that involved an airbag deploying into his neck. On top of his paralysis, he also endured an excruciating amount of pain 24/7, which in his own words 'feels like his spinal cord is being ripped out', as well as Allodynia, Fibromyalgia, Peripheral Neuropathy, Central Nerve Damage, Autonomic Dysreflexia, Sepsis, Pneumonia, Pulmonary Embolisms (blood clots) in both lungs, DVTs in both legs, serious Urinary Infections, horrendous Wound Infections from bed sores... the list goes on. He was in hospital for over a year and has spent the majority of his time since then in hospital, with over 40 hospital admissions in the last 9 months. He cannot go on like this, mentally or physically. He is deteriorating and we urgently need to raise funds to fly him abroad for stem cell treatment, which is much needed to repair the myelin sheath and aid regrowth of nerves to his damaged spinal cord, along with rehabilitation and medical assistance.

The family have set up an online fundraising appeal in the hope of reaching £160,000 covering costs necessary for a range of examinations/tests/treatments, including stem cell treatment to repair the spinal cord myelin sheath and regrowth of nerves at a stem cell clinic in Panama, and one-to-one rehab at The Walking Project in America, and specialised rehab mobility gym and other bespoke equipment necessary for ease of mobility.
