“Don’t shoot what it looks like. Shoot what it feels like.”
- David Alan Harvey
Always Love
I love making people feel good about themselves. I have known this about myself for a long time, and always remember saying this in an interview in 2012 when asked why I wanted to work in a Next store.
I'm dedicated to empowering lovers, women and mothers through my lens. From the moment I picked up my workhorse camera in 2014 when my eldest kiddo was 6 months old, it became my mission to capture 'real life' for other people.
I fell into wedding photography through an old job and caught the love bug hard - since then, it's been my life's work to create dreamy visuals of people's love for one another by freezing those candid smiles, lingering glances and smitten kisses in time.
What for?
Last year was incredible, I was able to shoot an abundance of badass brands, couples/weddings, women and families. So this year I started out ready to hit the road, full of a million goals to achieve as well as make way with my U.K. photo tour after its initial success last year.
On the day of announcing my first tour date of the year on January 10th, I was later completely blindsided by an ugly car crash that wrote off my car. I am beyond grateful and feel so fortunate that my children weren't in the car and I walked away without injury.
I had been planning to crowdfund at some point, but now that I am rendered without a car I know that the time to ask for support is now.
The majority of my work (easily 90%) is done out of town and across the country, so having a car is imperative.
Why Crowdfund it, Al?
As a mother/roadie to two small children running a small independent biz from the ground up, calling for your support in return for some awesome rewards is the only way I can manifest a replacement car and invest in some more equipment.
Wedding & tour season is fast approaching, and the show must go on, so I need to raise funds quickly to get back on the road.
I get a lot of love for my work sent my way, and I'm beyond grateful already knowing that my equipment/replacement car is coming from a place of love & good energy by support of a community of people that dig my work enough to support me at this time.
Thank you SO much for reading and I appreciate your support in any capacity. Even just clicking the share button will help me tremendously! Let's get this show back on the road!
Always love,
Al x
