As a child, I always had aspirations of starting a business - however, the concept always seemed overwhelming, with the knowledge that I'd have very little support (financially) from friends and family.
I grew up as a Young Carer for my disabled brother, in a deprived household, and studied at a local Catholic School. During my time at school, I familiarised and studied the systems I was using. Post-studies, I applied for an apprenticeship at my school, as an Apprentice IT Technician. This was very successful and I spent 1.5 years there working and studying.
Since, I have made my way into a job at a Managed Service Provider where I started as a Level 1 Support Engineer, and progressed to Level 3, before exploring the world of Project Co-ordination.
In November 2019, I decided to officially start my own company (AJRB Services Ltd.) with Companies House, and kept running it since. The expense comes out of my own pocket every month, and I have donated over £800 worth of time and resources to local causes.
To give you an idea of what I provide through my company:
- Remote Technical Support
- Education & Apprenticeship Guidance/Support
- Technical Training
- Managed Services - including Cloud Hosting, Web Design/Hosting, Telephony, and networking
- Charity/Local Cause Support
It is very difficult to keep afloat with business during COVID, but I have stuck to it. I would really appreciate any additional help and assistance that you could provide, and we will happily provide recognition for your kindness and generosity.
My long-term plan is to rent some office space, take on AJRB Services full time, and recruit some apprentices, where we could train them effectively. Apprentices get such a dis-service currently, with neglect from employers, and our mission is to change this.
