n 17th March 2019, a much loved Suzuki Bandit was stolen from a home in the Belmont Avenue area of Belfast. Despite amazing online support from the biking community and beyond, no amount of shares and searching could bring this boy back intact. The bike was recovered on 22nd March and arrests were made, bringing the culprits to justice, but they said the bike was damaged beyond repair.

To rub salt into the wound, insurance would not cover the claim due to technicalities and so the recovery was bittersweet to say the least. This may not be may only means of transport(you cant fit 3 kids on a motorbike- believe me, I’ve tried!), but it was my happiness. I saved and worked so hard to be able to afford this bike in the first place, and being a health student and single mother of 3, this wasn’t easy. I work so hard to put one foot in front of the other, and to be a good mum and student. This takes a toll on ones mental health, and my motorbike was always that opportunity to get out and breathe, to think about nothing but the road ahead. If you bike, you’ll get it. If you don’t, I bet you have something that gives you that same feeling.

And now its gone.

I am devastated, and haven’t slept much since the theft, hearing every noise outside at night, but i know without doubt that I need to get back on a bike and not let some criminal take away my solace.

I am appealing for any assistance in my quest to start building up the money to replace this much-loved bike, so that I can get back on the road, and be the person I was before someone took it from me.

Thank you so much for reading, and thank you for all of your help.
