To date I have been 159 days or 5.5 months without income due to being denied furlough by my ex employer, unable to access benefits or any meaningful support. I now have a new job and I am over the worst, however there are many many others who are still struggling on a daily basis, trying to put food on their tables, salvage their businesses and keep their heads out of the dark clouds. It’s a horrible place to be, these people are UK tax payers and their families and they shouldn’t have been put in this desperate situation, the government promised to help everyone yet they failed to plug the gaps and this group of people have suffered as a result. 3 million Miles is there to raise much needed funds to provide professional assistance to those who are in desperate need 5 and a half months on, the support from members of the group can only go so far. The health and well-being of some members is beyond peer support. To date me and Clara have climbed mount Snowden in Wales, it was tough... we clocked up 50 miles over the week, our fellow friends, Laura, Kacia, David, Ian, Will & Paul have all climbed with us and contributed their miles too. This weekend we are all planning to climb Pen Y Gent on our doorstep in Yorkshire and we will continue to rack up the miles and add them, you can add yours too & or create your own fundraiser for us. Please show your support either with a little donation or adding your miles and helping us to raise awareness.
Thank you so much
Love Helen & Clara xxxx
ps.. thank you to everyone who have already donated via the main fundraiser page xx
