Welcome to the Heathrow Pioneers home page. We are a team made up of like minded colleagues on the Heathrow Expansion Project, who have come together to undertake one of the toughest military style challenges available to civilians in the UK. The Fan Dance.
The Fan Dance is steeped in SAS history, as one of the timed test marches on the famed SAS Selection course. It is 24km of slog across Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons, with almost 20kg of equipment, food and water in a Bergen done in as quickly as possible, up and down some of the steepest terrain in the UK.
Each one of us have picked a charity to support and raise money for as part of our challenge. So welcome, and enjoy the journey with us.
Every charity is personal to us and have been carefully chosen for their work within their local communities.
Our chosen charities are; The Chilton Foliat Community Association, The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and the Heathrow Community Fund.
They have all had huge impacts on our and our families' lives and this is our way of saying thank you. To help them continue their fantastic work.
The money will go into one pot, and then equally shared between the charities and their particular projects.
