The Venue & Vision Heartattack & Vine is a brand new fully independent -BYOB- arts, films and gigs venue for local promoters, musicians and artists. We are currently refurbishing our warehouse to bring you the most exciting venue in Newcastle. We're hoping for a somewhat oxymoronic cross between the surreal glamour of an Alice in Wonderland courtyard and the lo-fi charm of an Austin dive bar or, for long term ambition purposes only, CBGB's meets the Ritz. We're soon to be fully bedecked with a wonderful vintage chesterfield / weird furniture, a complete PA, drums and amps, (as well as a lovely 60s in-house pipe organ), black & white chessboard floors, free retro arcade games cabinet, a wall of vines, old framed pictures, a menagerie of animals, and gallons of fairy lights. Oh and you hopefully! Our proposal is to turn this neglected corner of our vintage clothing warehouse into Heartattack & Vine, a unique creative events space / venue in which to promote music and the arts with the help of local independent companies and publications such as Turps and NARC. As one of eBay Europe's top twenty five contributors to local charitable organisations we're hoping to turn our own good fortune to the arts. But we need your help to complete! Therefore we are seeking funding from individuals to match our own investment in the project to enable us to turn this quiet, unused section of our warehouse into an intimate and beautiful venue for all. We halready have a team of creative (and rewarded) volunteers ready to complete the refurbishment so if you can help us along the way it would be greatly appreciated! If we reach (or, imagine, better) the funding target we'll publish a list of EXACTLY what funds were used for too! Apologies for the low fi video at present, we'll do a walkthrough when the canopy is covering the entire venue. The Context We have one of the largest spaces available within the Ouseburn Valley area of Newcastle-upon-Tyne which has been at the centre of an extensive regeneration project spanning the last thirty years. We are proud and excited to be at the centre of the Ouseburn community as business tenants and hope to encourage more visitors to the area with the creation of a new wholly independent live events, community and arts venue.
