FoodHQ will offer customers a healthy alternative to the usual high street fast food outlets, chains and takeaways.
There are simply too many unhealthy options available - in the area where I work, there is a fried chick outlet, well known sandiwch chain, pizza, Indian, kebab shops, a couple bakeries and 5 different supermarkets for sandwiches, but if you are trying to be health conscious, avoid meat or gluten, or just generally not eat food with additives or preservatives, there are no options.
During lunchtimes, FoodHQ will offer healthy meals and smoothies packed with nutritious ingredients and alternatives to the usual things available. Delivery will also be an option for bulk orders - how many office workers out there work through lunch some days? If demand is high enough, we can also be open in the evenings for dinner.
FoodHQ will be beneficial to the community in what it offers, and would be run as a social enterprise, so that any money made can be put back into training and hiring schemes, creating jobs within the community. This also means that 'profits' are not the deciding factor when setting prices, so this food really can be affordable to everyone.
Not every business venture needs to be about making money, but about creating something that will become a cornerstone of the community, and by operating this way, prices can be kept low enough to compete with the mainstream alternatives. And maybe open more branches of demand is high enough.
Money raised from this campaign will be used for securing a premises and fitting it out, purchasing stock, building a website, signage and menus, marketing and staff wages for the first 2 months while things get off the ground.
HQ = High Quality, Healthy & Quick
