To repair, replace and extend the adventure trail. To provide outdoor covered areas for all weather learning. To add playground markings.

Bradshaw Hall Primary school is committed to developing our children to become Successful Learners, Confident Individuals and Responsible Citizens. With the help of Crowdfunding we can repair, replace and redevelop our outdoor learning area. We would like to include equipment that will encourage more children to engage in physical activities before, during and after school. We aim to redesign the playground to include fun and interactive playground markings and to build an adventure trail to promote risky play and to develop physical strength. In addition to this we would also like to redevelop existing structures to provide covered outdoor learning spaces that can be used during all weather conditions.

As a parent governor of the school I believe that the outdoor space at Bradshaw Hall provides so many opportunities to develop life skills such as communication, team building and problem solving. The development of the playground has been on the agenda for several years but due to reduced government funding it has always been postponed as finances have needed to be allocated elsewhere. (Like fixing the drains - see photo of recent flooding in the playground) This year we are even more determined to make it happen. We have various other fundraising opportunities planned but the scale of what we are aiming to achieve would require significant funds - such as Crowdfunding.

The development of the playground would provide the school community with the facilities needed to show that we are just as focused on the wellbeing of our children just as much as academic success. We believe in learning through play and that children need to engage and interact with the outdoor environment for personal and social well-being.

Recent research has shown that children are becoming less active and spending more time then ever on technology. We would like the opportunity to reverse that trend at Bradshaw Hall Primary School. Once the project is completed we would welcome other school groups to visit us and hopefully inspire others to follow in our footsteps.
