Heal our Hall
We did it
On 28th January 2019 we successfully raised £310 with 6 supporters in 56 days

Our vision is to enable all the young people using the hall to have a safe environment to develop their skills for life - in their community

by Jane Bain in Stornoway, Scotland, United Kingdom

Stornoway Scout & Guide Hall provides a fantastic space for upwards of 220 young people and adult volunteers to meet in Scouting, Guiding and Nursery each week. The hall also caters for other groups and bodies looking for space to hold events and meetings and has been the location for many a Scout Hall Disco in years gone by.

The groups that use the hall are not for profit groups and as such funds have barely covered the cost of operating the hall with the result that the hall requires a once in a generation upgrade of its electrics, toilet, showering and kitchen facilities in order to bring it up to the standards expected today and to ensure that it can continue to offer a space for future generations to meet.

We have some events planned to help raise some of the money and are looking at grants/funding sources that may be relevant.

Without upgrade it is likely that the hall would have to close in the not too distant future.
