Fun fact: ostriches don't actually put their heads in the sand, but humans do...

New stretch target

Bristol airport is just the beginning. Whether we win or lose there will be more fights to come.

Extra funding will be used to support actions, creative and disruptive, in Bristol and beyond to stop ecocidal practises such as airport expansion.

What is happening?

On Monday 10th February, North Somerset Council’s planning and regulatory Committee are due to meet in Weston-super-Mare to decide on the planning proposal to expand Bristol Airport.

In the midst of a climate emergency, we cannot afford to bury our heads in the sand and ignore the impacts of air travel.

What are we going to do about it?

Extinction Rebellion Bristol are heading to Weston Super Mare to protest against the proposed expansion and we would like your help to fund a piece of the action.

We have the opportunity to bring along this brilliant ostrich art piece for our 'Heads in the Sand' protest on Saturday afternoon.

It will make the action really eye catching, but it's a big piece of kit and will cost a lot to transport to and from its current home.

What do we need from you?

Your donations will enable us to have as big an impact as possible in Weston-super-Mare at this critical time.

Especially for those who would like to protest against the airport expansion this weekend but can't make it, it would be great if you can make a donation towards the cost of bringing our ostrich to its rightful place in the sand.

In this time of emergency, we are all crew.
