Alec Martin has been frontman for a UK blues for 41 years as well as being a solo acoustic performer.
Him and his wife, Margot have recently been presenting a one hour long radio show for the internet based station Greater Manchester Rock Radio and it has been met with great enthusiasm. They gave realised that there is very limited access to classic blues in the UK, and the idea of a 24 hour station is very much a practical one.
It would bring together a variety of similar shows, done by dedicated presenters, and have them centralised in a 'national' station, available 24 hours a day.
Classic and modern blues would be catered for, and the shows would promote new artists with reviews, gig guides, new releases etc..
In these times of homogenised music, it is important to maintain and promote the genre owed by so many modern musicians.
