THE PROBLEM
Perinatal mental health issues cost the UK £8.1 billion a year.
20% of women globally suffer from antenatal or postnatal depression or anxiety.
70% of women down play or hide their symptoms.
25% of those pregnancies end in miscarriage or still births.
10% of men suffer from the same conditions.
13% of those families that suffer experience the loss of a loved one due to suicide.
THE SOLUTION
We know that 80-90% of those who suffer can make a full recovery with early intervention.
And this is why I want to develop a mental health app for mums and their families to;
- screen for said conditions,
- offer a repository for coping strategies and
- offer computerized CBT along with
- give access to a social support network to connect with others at different stages of their journey.

HappyMummyHappyBaby is THE maternal mental health app of the future that will empower whole families to keep check on their mental health at a particularily vulnerable time and at the same time offer support and coping strategies and peer support to make a full recovery.

THE EXECUTION
Via digital marketing campaigning and harnessing the power the internet, parenting sites and technology can have at the early stages of pregnancy and first years I propose a freemium business model complimented by strategic partnerships and alliances with mother and baby / parenting bodies and online communitities ie royal college of midwives, nurses and the medical communities.
Potential revenue streams via advertising and brand extension offering like; post partum exercise, nutrition, breastfeeding support etc
THE ASK
I want to bring this proof of concept to life sooner rather than later. To do that I need investment to build it.
I want as many people to benefit from early diagnosis and to have the chance of a full recovery.
It is a question of WHEN not HOW.
