Who Is Taxi Spirit Company Ltd?
Taxi Spirit Company Ltd is a company producing London’s first premium, award winning Cabby’s Rum and Cabby’ Gin in Mile End. The business received all the relevant licenses by March 2018, and within weeks of production we received Outstanding Gold and Silver and Bronze awards at the Oscars of spirit industry - International Wine and Spirits Competition , San Francisco World Spirits Competition, The Spirit Business and The Great Taste Award
With learning the knowledge 6 miles from Charing Cross, I gained extensive knowledge about good food and drinks places in and around London. Interactive skills learnt the trend of spirit in the Capital, this initiated my endeavour to study the science of spirit production, and in 2012 I took up training on brewing and distilling personally overlooked by Abhishek Banik, then based at ICBD, Edinburgh. The business is managed by myself with help from my partner, Bianca Whiskey and business partners Abhishek Banik and Frank Tumwesigye
Why We Need YOUR Help?
The coronavirus pandemic has had far-reaching consequences beyond the spread of the disease and efforts to quarantine it. As the pandemic has spread around the globe, concerns have shifted from supply-side manufacturing issues to decreased businesses in the services sector.
We want to repurpose our distillery and warehouse facility for the production of the W.H.O version Hand Sanitiser to help with Covid-19 pandemic. We are within a 3 mile radius of the Nightingale Hospital to help with growing crisis. We can definitely impact in the healthcare service and the public as there is a shortage of PPE including Hand Sanitisation.
We want to build a continuous distillation and blending apparatus that will help us produce hand sanitiser continuously. This will reduce the cost and lead us to support the frontline services to protect themselves. Alcohol is used to make hand sanitiser, and due to demand alcohol price has sky- rocketed, making sanitiser expensive as well. The way to address this issue will be to start from base, create alcohol. We aim to produce 500L a week of Neutral spirit which will denature 80% ABV and the end product will be hand sanitiser, the support we will need is to be able to employee additional staff to help with the finish process.
How You Can Help Us Fight The Pandemic Of Covid-19!
By donating to the fund it will be used in building the continuous distillation and blending apparatus that will help us produce hand sanitiser continuously. This will reduce the cost and lead us to support the frontline services to protect themselves.
The design and manufacture of the equipment will cost £75,000. The plan is to phase the build to support the existing equipment and new technology block by block, as an upgrade to the system. In this way the fund is effectively used and we can deliver product from the start, and slowly increase the delivery. This will also help our distribution team to adapt to the volume and demand.
We have completed building a prototype equipment to test proof of principle, and we have positive results. Our endeavour is to address the demand of hand sanitiser and its affordability due to ever-increasing price of active raw materials , i.e., alcohol. We are managing risks by reducing it.
