The coronavirus outbreak has currently suspended face to face Scout meetings in Wales. This shelter could make all the difference to local Scout groups being able to return to Scouting in the short and medium term as we will be able to recommence outdoor activities well before anything based indoors can resume. The size of the structure is such as we could provide activities for 18 young people at a time whilst still socially distancing at 2 metres, it really could make all the difference to when face to face activities can be restarted for our young people.
Longer term, the space will be available for general Scout meetings, education sessions, dinning and even for hammock camping. Being made of oak and with local slate for the roof this facility will be a great resource for Scout groups to use for generations to come.
