We did it!

Our Stretch Target

What will I use the extra money for?

Overfunding will be used to kickstart the following years art trail in 2016, which may take place in the woods or we might surprise you with an entirely new venue.............Once again we will have to find the Fringe entry fee, printing, transport and materials costs so any extra money is always very very useful.

We are Grinlow Art Trail, a group of local and not so local artists and makers who, last year, created a rather fabulous art trail This year we are planning to do it all over again and are happy to welcome more artists and makers on board to help make the trail next year even more fantastic and diverse and our plan is to include more musicians and story tellers.

As part of Buxton Festival we are creating an art trail that will be showcased in the magnificent Grinlow Woods in Buxton. The trail will display a variety of installations, including sculpture, textiles and good old fashioned painting to name but a few!

The trail will lead to a hand made geodesic dome which will be a rather lovely venue (and shelter!) for local story tellers and musicians to entertain and delight our hordes of visitors!

There will also be a selection of FREE creative workshops before and during the event for the local community.

As well as being a community arts project, the Grinlow Art Trail will also be raising money for a chosen charity.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Now doing all of this costs money. We need to pay for materials, venues for workshops, photocopying and printing, tools and transport. And it would be fabulous to provide monetary help to artists who are planning a beautiful installation but are hampered by lack of funds.

Our plan is to raise £600 which would be of invaluable help to us to put together another weekend of truly magical experiences.

We won the "Best Visual Arts Entry" for the Buxton Festival Fringe 2014!

"In case I’m not making myself clear – this is a rave review. This is art that both offers solace and comes out and grabs you. I love the idea of all those Fringe-invaded dog walkers! Don’t miss the chance to see the woods transformed and bring some change to contribute to the Project Green Hands reforestation scheme that they are promoting. As Henry David Thoreau put it once: “I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the trees."

                                                                                                                                                                 Stephanie Billen (festival fringe review).
