We want to open a shop with kitchen facility to be able to start a small patisserie and chocolatier with everything hand made on site. We would be making a range of French style patisserie deserts with an english twist, Artisan Chocolates and Fresh breads.
Having lived in France for just over 10 years, I trained as a chef within French kitchens. Although I never received any chef qualifications part of my job role was to reach a standard to train the new chefs including head chefs at the Chateau I worked in. A part of my role also included public demonstrations for Bread making, Crepe making along with other food demonstrations. I also have experience with baking and celebration cakes some of which have been quite ornate.
We also aim to have a social element of the business where day courses will be run teaching people how to work with chocolate and make bread. We will try to run a part of this element of the business on social funding which would allow for those with independent living needs to come along for have a go days. The target audience we would aim this at would be those with need for social workers for daily living. Those who struggle with day to day tasks or with social elements might under normal circumstances would not be able to attend these kinds of days. We would use a “charity box” in store to gather funds for this as well as looking for social impact grants and try to set up for online donations. Although some day courses will be charged for the we would aim to provide this as a free service for those who are under social services, social workers.
We also aim to be as eco friendly as possible, sourcing packaging that uses minimum/ no plastic and local deliveries will be done on an electric cargo bike.
We have the suppliers, we have a property in mind, we have the business registered, unfortunatly due to timing our funding options dissapeared with the start of COVID 19 leaving us in limbo and unable to move forward.
The money raised from this crowd fund will secure the property buy the needed equipment and stock to get us up and running. Getting something like this up and running has been a dream of mine for a lot of years and really need the help to get across the final hurdle "finance".
We dont have anything like this in Bridlington at the minute but with a little help we could be up and running in a very small amount of time.
