I represent a community volunteer film & music production organisation currently working on a documentary series highlighting the effects of Covid-19 on the Grassroots Music Industry in the North East.
We are shining a critical light on the devastating affects local musicians and producers have faced, tackling industry prejudice, mental health issues and financial setbacks. Through the filming of this documentary, we will help rebuild the local community’s social and creative confidence.
Our team are all unpaid volunteers producing, filming and editing in our own time for the love of sharing the skills that we have and for the love of the industry and subject matter. We currently have three members working as a core team with further volunteers from local educational groups and mental health support services aiding as and when they are available. It is important to us that we can offer some vocational skills and on the job experience where it is not normally available.
This documentary is incredibly important to us and to the all the people it will support by extension. We have planned for a six episode story arc of at least forty minutes each. This will also be cut into a feature film and entered into international film festivals. Material will also be cut into promotional featurettes for all the musicians and venues used for their own promotional purposes.
Funds raised will be used to cover production costs of the documentary. These are unprecedented times but together, we are stronger, and your positive response will make a massive difference to our local, music community.
