Any additional funding will allow us to enter in to commercial agreements to secure rights for PL games which are incredibly expensive! And any additional cash will then be pushed into the chosen local causes & charities.

'Marcelle goes for the glory...and gets it!! Barnsley are in the Premier League!'

2017 marks the 20th anniversary of Barnsley Football Club's promotion to the Premier League & its season in the top flight. A town & a Club that was still reeling from the impact of the greatest industrial dispute of the 20th century had stuck two fingers up to the experts & the know it alls to achieve the impossible. A town that had been destroyed by those sworn to serve but instead hell bent on destroying a community that had long since stood its ground was now fighting back.

This is the story of the people that achieved all that - the men & women closest to those who delivered the greatest football team Barnsley has ever seen & the impact it had on the people of this great Town. Danny Wilson - the young manager making a name in the game. John Dennis - the Chairman who first set foot in Oakwell in the 50s and now steered the club his father oversaw 20 years previously to the greatest league in the World. The players who delivered football never before or since seen on that famous Oakwell pitch. The men & women behind the scenes that made it all possible. And you - the fans.

This is a story that will forever be told by those who were or weren't there alike - a recollection of memories that bring joy & tears to the eyes. A true story of David v Goliath. And its a story that we believe deserves to be committed to film.

This as yet untitled film is a completely self funded project by people of Barnsley, guided by experienced film makers. It's a collaborative effort fuelled by love of our Town & our Football Club. As our Town is again under attack by those in power it's only fitting that any profits & proceeds will be donated out to local causes & charities.

We're planning to do this properly with a full, professional DVD release, Premiere in Barnsley town centre and showings of the film for a limited period. To do that it requires significant funding to create a project everyone in this fine town can be proud of. It requires professional kit, location hire, travel expenses & rights purchases - you can see it all adds up. We hope you can help us fund this by choosing one of the options we've pulled together:

  • Pledge £20 for a DVD delivered to your door in Spring 2018
  • Pledge £250 for the above but a VIP ticket to the Premiere of the film that will be held in Barnsley in late March 2018 and an invitation to an exclusive Q&A & drinks reception. Limited to 50.
  • Pledge £1000 (limited to only 5 people) to be listed on the film as Executive Producer, receive 4 VIP tickets for the Premiere, 4 DVDs delivered to your door and be the first to see exclusive content in the months leading up to the film release.
