Release and CD production of my debut EP which is coming out in April!

by Phyllida Martignetti in Manchester, England, United Kingdom

This album started as a Creative Project as part of the final year of my degree at the Royal Northern College of Music but it has become SO much more.

My vision was to take the inspiring poetry of the former poet laureate, Carol Ann Duffy, and set five poems to different styles of music that represented the rich musical tapestry of the city of Manchester. This was, in all honesty, in an effort to gain as high a mark as possible in my degree.

After many months work, I have come to the realisation that this work has the potential to be actually important, and shed some light on the amazing people and artists of Manchester.

Each piece has been written in a different style: one Oasis-style, one modern, one choral etc and all are relevant to the contributions this city has made to the music scene we in Britain are so proud of.

All of the music has been written by myself, and produced by my partner. The art work is also my own.

Your Role

This has been an immensely time consuming project and at this point the limiting factor in its release is funds.

That’s where you lovely people come in.

If you can contribute the cost of the album £10 before it is released, you will receive - upon completion - a physical copy of the album PLUS a programme notes insert that explains the motivation and process behind each of the songs (and some beautiful behind the scene pictures of the process).

Any contributions will be gratefully accepted as you aid will be what I hope is the first of many albums and a thriving musical career!

This project offers rewards in return for your donation.

£10 or more

Album Copy

Each purchase will result in you owning a copy of the album upon its release!
