I want to work for myself & give something back to the local community.

by Pamela Barrie in Oxford, England, United Kingdom

I am looking to open my own small catering business, my initial aim is to supply or have collected lunch for people or business meetings.

After enjoying working in catering for over 33 years I've decided to bite the bullet and try it on my own working from home. I've worked over the years in a variety of businesses ranging from high street names to small independent businesses including working as the manager at a local popular deli.

Currently I'm putting the feelers out to see if there is any interest locally, and am looking to supply homemade sandwiches, salads, sausage rolls, cakes etc for individuals and buffets for meetings but I'd like to do things a bit different, shopping local where possible and using eco friendly packaging and attractive presentation, food should be appealing to the eye as well as delicious, sandwiches for meetings don't have to look boring :)

Even though I'm starting simple,I have lots of ideas and will extend the choice as and when I can, hoping to cater for bigger functions eventually, baby showers, children's tea parties etc.  However with the experience I have gained I'm also looking to do something different if required and will be happy to help. Aware of the dietary requirements people have today and the more health conscious approach I'm armed with the knowledge to provide options to cover these also.

After living in Wallingford for a few years now I have always found our little town to have a fantastic community spirit with a great loyalty base to small businesses and I'm hoping to anchor this trait and receive some support to give me a chance also.

I would like to earn enough to support myself and be able to put something back into our little community,.

Thank you in advance for reading through this.
