A postgraduate class at Goldsmiths University would like to turn a neglected area of the kids nursery into a thriving Veg Patch for kids.
We are working on the idea of a “cooking garden” – kids would grow vegetables and herbs that will be used in a day-to-day cooking and teaching children about the importance of a healthy, balanced diet.
We would like to have a few garden raised beds for kids to grow vegetables and herbs. As well, we would like to introduce the five R’s: reduce, re-use, repair, recycle and review.
All materials that will be used by children will be sourced locally and organically, as well as incorporating recycled materials in the interest of sustainability.
