Goldmine Studios' was established in 2010 in a railway arch in Bethnal Green and during that time we have served the grass roots music scene as well as some of the biggest names in the industry such as Gary clark Jr, Seasick Steve, Mazzy Star, The Libertines and Little Dragon to name a few
Goldmine provides rehearsal and creative space, backline hire as well as organising events and tours, having done so in London, New York and South Korea.
With high demand and many loyal clients hiring music spaces from us long term we have had to move to a larger premise to accommodate demand as well as a provide a higher level of service and provide a more comfortable environment. Alongside studios and creative spaces we would like to install a social space for workshops, community events and seminars.
Goldmine will be highlighting community engagement whereby in addition to discountouned rates for Schools and colleges in Hackney and the neighbouring boroughs, together with those unemployed, 8 hours a week will be donated to these groups in the community. Goldmine's founder Aidan Connell is a respected touring and recording artist who has been featured in Interview Magazine and Classic Rock Magazine as well as being played regularly on BBC Radio 2. His entrepreneurial spirit to facilitate many of his associates rehearsal, recording and equipment hire needs was inspired by the lack of accessible and affordable studios in central locations in London. In 2010 Bethnal Green was a burgeoning arts and music scene that has now moved further eat to Hackney, Hackney Wick and Clapton with several converted warehouses providing affordable workspace for the creative community.
We have secured a new 1800 square ft space in Hackney Wick opposite the excellent music and community venue Grow in Wallis road and a stones throw from London's Olympic Park. We have got the space up and running although extensive building work and sound proofing is required in order to sustain and establish the business adequately.
For this exciting chapter of our enterprise with the backdrop of Hackney Wick's vibrant and electrifying arts scene, relocating and rebuilding the studio is an exciting but mammoth task and we are turning to you, our supporters and friends to help us raise the final money needed.
