Glenuig village needs a defibrillator to save a 16 mile round trip to the nearest machine in the next village to save lives.

by Glenuig Community Association in Glenuig, Scotland, United Kingdom

The GCA exists to benefit the Community by:

  • Providing Recreational Facilities

  • Encouraging an understanding of our Heritage, Culture and Environment

  • Creating employment and Training opportunities

Our Aims:

  • To promote the management of a Community Centre in Glenuig for the benefit the people of Glenuig and its environs

  • To promote the acquisition of skills and training in Glenuig and its environs

  • To create employment opportunities for local people

  • To promote the continuation of Gaelic Language and Culture in the area

Our Objectives:

  • To maintain and manage the New Hall for the benefit of all the Community

  • To develop a network to assist training

  • To open up opportunities for development within a local framework

  • To facilitate and encourage the development of subsidiary enterprises

We believe that with the number of commercial vehicles through the village all year around and the large volume of tourists in the season, as well as the local population, it is imperative that the village has its own defibrillator.  The nearest defibrillator is 8 miles away at the Lochailort Inn.  As a charity the GCA needs funding to achieve this goal.
