I am asking for funding to allow me to stand as the Green Party candidate for Blackpool South in the forthcoming General Election.
A health democracy needs freedom of choice at the ballot box. Unfortunately, many people I meet feel that the mainstream political parties offer no real choice at all. There needs to be an effective alternative to challenge the current state of politics, and the Green Party can do just that. I believe passionately that the voters of Blackpool should have the opportunity to vote for the Green Party and have the chance to learn more about the party's policies and values.
I’m Duncan Royle, the Green Party candidate for Blackpool South, and this crowd-funder is in place to raise the money needed to cover the costs of standing and campaigning in the general election.
The Green party believes in compassion by putting people first. It stands for democracy and integrity, by fighting for a system that does what is says and reflects what people want. Finally, it understands that for a secure future we need to care for our planet so that it can provide for us.
Unlike the mainstream parties, the Green Party does not have significant sources of income from large organisations, and relies on funding from individuals like you. The minimum cost for campaigning will be £500, and anything beyond that will improve the level of communication with the electorate. That is why I am asking for a target of £500 with a stretch of £1,000. Your kindness in giving makes a big difference and although the 'Rewards' may appear small - my thanks are genuine and heartfelt.
Every pound you can give will make a difference, helping to overcome the bias in political fund raising, and help improve choice and democracy.
