Thank you for visiting the page. I would like to see, if as a team, we could show our collective appreciation to CEO Craig Hassall. I am sure you all aware, that this year has been unprecedented and difficult, particularly for staff in the arts sector.
While this past year has certainly been testing, I think that we can all agree, that it would have been far more stressful had we not received financial support from The Hall.
When Front of House Staff at other venues were being made redundant, sometimes without warning or financial support, The Royal Albert Hall continued to pay not only an average of our yearly hours (which often far exceeded our minimum contracted hours), but also they committed to topping-up our furlough. When we believed that furlough would end in July, they promised that would still be committed to paying our wages.
Whilst I appreciate that this financial support has been a team-effort, I believe that it was Craig Hassall instigated it, and that he had to go to great efforts to persuade others that front of house staff were worth saving.
I am suggesting a minimum donation of £1.50. If you are unable to donate more than this, please don’t worry. If however, you feel inclined to donate a bit more that would also be greatly appreciated!
