My 1 year old cat Ziggy is currently really unwell and needing emergency investigative tests and treatment to save his life and make sure he doesn't need to be put down.
At the start of the year Ziggy became really unwell and began to bleed constantly from his mouth. He had to have a blood transfusion which saved his life and meant he was able to come home. He was on a form of steroid treatment for many months following to keep his blood level up, however the vets could not diagnose what was the cause. He came off this a few of months ago, however, in the past couple of days has begun to bleed from his mouth again, causing his anemia to relapse. As the vets are unable to get to the cause of the problem using blood tests he needs to been referred to a specialist hospital for tests which is likely to involve another blood transfusion, CT scans and more. This will then hopefully get us to the cause of the problem, which the specialists think could be a rare illness, so he can begin proper treatment. The estimated cost of this is about £3,000. I am insured but only up to a maximum of £1,000 which was used to save his life at the beginning of the year. I am asking for donations to help towards the cost of these tests and treatment as without this, he would need to be put to sleep.
Anyone who has the privileged to meet Ziggy has fallen in love with him. He is the most playful and loving cat and at such a young age I really don't want to lose him. Any donation will help hugely and if we get over what we need this will be donated to Cats Protection xxx
