Michael has MS. He was diagnosed over 18 years ago and has not let this cruel disease stop him living his life to the full. He is the most inspirational person I know and does so much raising funds for charities despite being registered blind and having limited mobility. He has completed the London Marathon on crutches, then delivered the £14k he raised personally to the project in India, unaccompanied. He has cycled across Australia to raise money for Clic Sargent, the children's cancer charity, and most recently, he completed 100km of the Thames Path in 3 days to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Children's Hopsital. The only way he was able to complete this was cycling his specially designed diability trike as he is unable to walk very far. This trike is also the only way he can get around, including to the shops. It has the added benefit of helping keep his legs working - vitally important to prevent his decline to requiring a wheelchair and giving him independence. It means he can get out of his flat and meet people on his daily bike rides. His trike was stolen which has left Michael unable to undertake many of the daily tasks most of us take for granted. He has lost his only means of transportation. He has lost his exercise. He has lost his independence. Please help raise money to buy Michael a new trike. He has been medically retired at 41 and is living off his disability pension so cannot afford to buy it himself. Let's give Michael his independence back. Thank you.
