I grew up in south Africa and am immensely proud of my heritage. My grandparents on both my mother and father sides were British born and raised who sought to reach their dreams and potential in South Africa. Family is really important to me and I have been blessed with a lot of siblings! My mom is an exceptional women who on her own has managed to raise triplets and twins who have grown up to be strong minded, compassionate and hardworking adults.
At the age of nineteen my mom decided that South Africa was no longer a safe place to have her family and she sacrificed everything relocating our family to the UK. She worked every job she could when we got here to support us and is still sacrificing to this day by helping me raise the funds for my university.
This money will help me on my way to persuading my dream of becoming a nurse. I've wanted to be a nurse since I was a little girl. I'v had a number of jobs since arriving in the Uk but the one I am most pride of to date would be being a carer to a lovely lady with Multiple Sclerosis. It is by far the hardest job I have ever done but it has also been the most rewarding. Through her I have seen the work the nurses do for the most vulnerable and I want to add my mark on the world like they do.
The money would be used to pay for my first year of studying as I do not qualify for a student loan as I am classed as an international student as my indefinite leave to remain will be not be awarded to me until after I have already started my course.
