This funding would be used to continue distributing over 800-1000 meals/week to vulnerable families living within Torbay, currently living in the lockdown situation, who would normally be in receipt of free school meals. These cost 50p each, which amounts to about £400/week.
Since March 19th, working with a professional catering company, restaurants, local schools and a team of volunteers RE4orm have already delivered over 4,500 meals and food packages, using funds from local donations. On 25th March RE4orm were added to the Local Resilience Plan by Torbay Council in recognition of their work.
Torbay is the most deprived local authority area in the South West region, with approximately 6,000 children living in poverty and nearly 40% of families with school age children in receipt of Pupil Premium. These households are at extreme risk during these unprecedented times with increased loss of wages and further reliance on resources in the home, with children away from school.
Every food package funded by this grant will provide essential aid to some of the most vulnerable households in Devon.
In donating you would be making a difference.
