Greetings from the Faslane Peace Camp!
As some of you may know, we've recently come under fire from the local council over our lack of planning permission/building warrants for the structures we have on site. We're in the midst of negotiations with the council, but it looks as though we'll need to replace some of our buildings. Whilst we don't like being told what to do, we're not going to deny that the camp could use a bit of a face-lift, and (ssh, don't tell the council) we were looking for replacement structures anyway!
In order to keep the council at bay in the future, we're looking to obtain second-hand standalone spaces such as static caravans and shipping containers to turn into communal spaces for living and storage. However we cannot hope to cover the costs of having such items delivered to the camp.
The money raised here will be going towards future-proofing the camp. This means costs associated with replacing structures, as well as materials for fortifying and fixing breaks/leaks in others.
As always, contributions of wood, paint, tools and building supplies are always welcome and gratefully received. Contributions of your time and labour are even more welcome, and needed now more than ever.
With love, peace and hope!
The residents of Faslane Peace Camp
