Following the success of the initiative last year, Crowdfunder and Creative Scotland are back with a new larger pot of £80,000 to award to 20 creative projects across Scotland.

We’re encouraging creative individuals, groups or businesses to let us know their creative ideas in order to take part in a competition to win a share of £80,000 in match funding (up to £10,000 per project) from Creative Scotland towards their crowdfunding campaign.

We want to hear from individual artists and creative practitioners such as writers, musicians, craft makers, fashion designers, dancers, visual artists, producers, curators, digital artists or those working in film, theatre, publishing or any of the creative industries.

Are you part of a creative group such as a band or an ensemble? You can even team up and enter jointly as part of an artistic collaboration. If you’re a creative business based in Scotland then we definitely want to hear from you as well.

How the funding works

The £80,000 match funding is split into two funding pots. £20,000 is ring-fenced to ensure all 20 shortlisted projects received £1,000 match funding, subject to hitting milestone one.

The remaining £60,000 match funding is available on a first come, first served basis to the 20 shortlisted projects subject to hitting milestones two, three and four outlined below.

Milestone one

Raise £1,000 from at least 30 supporters, receive a £1,000 pledge.

Milestone two

Raise a further £1,500 from the crowd (total amount raised £3,500), receive a £1,500 pledge.

Milestone three

Raise a further £2,500 from the crowd (total amount raised £7,500), receive a £2,500 pledge.

Milestone four

Raise a further £5,000 from the crowd (total amount raised £15,000), from at least 200 supporters, receive a £5,000 pledge.
