East End Islamic Centre, where I have the honour of being the headteacher is a registered charity organisation.
In April 2019 we took the bold step in starting a class for students who have special educational needs in our locality. Unfortunately, there aren‘t many Islamic organisations that provide these services, so you can only imagine how happy the parents of these students were. The sense of relief that their child can have access to a tailored lesson that addresses their needs was very much appreciated.
We strongly believe that everyone has a right to education, especially the vulnerable and needy. Seeing the impact that it has had on the five students that were enrolled is priceless. Hearing from parents about how they have started to implement the basics of their Deen in their dailly routines was also heart-warming.
Due to Covid, we have had a setback with our finances and this is where I need your help. A few friends and I have organised to do a bike ride from East London to Cambridge (Eco Masjid) and I have decided to raise funds for the Special Educational Needs Class. This will be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah (continous charity) for our vulnerable students on your behalf.
Please do donate whatever little you can for this noble cause and share with family and friends.
Many thanks , Jazakumullahu Khairan.
