Since 1984, Harrow MS Therapy Centre has helped people in the London area with Multiple Sclerosis to improve their quality of life.
As a registered charity, we offer physiotherapy, high-dose oxygen therapy, and other therapies such as chiropody, yoga, reflexology, and massage. We also provide support, information and advice, to help people understand and live with MS and its symptoms.
We are a self-funded, self-supporting, registered charity. We do not receive any statutory grants, which means that all our income comes from our members and supporters.
We ask our members for donations to help with the cost of running the Centre, but we always give treatment to those who need it, even if they cannot always make donations.
Our running costs, which were £225,000 in 2017, are topped-up by the fundraising events organised by the members, their friends and families. Unfortunately, even these are often not enough, and we rely a lot on the goodwill of other people and grant-giving organisations.
What do we need the money for? We are trying to fund our physiotherapy service which helps many people with Multiple Sclerosis. Physiotherapy is very important for managing MS. New members to our Centre are assessed by our physiotherapists (or physios, for short) to learn about any issues they have related to MS. A personal programme is then worked out to meet their needs. We would love to be able to facilitate and maximise this service and help more people. This is greatly needed!
Physiotherapy helps people with MS to strengthen muscles, maintain control and balance and reduce spasticity. Physiotherapy programmes are designed to help maximise movement and mobility, helping to keep existing abilities.
Please help us to reach our target of £20,000.
