NIRVAIR KHALSA JATHA UK ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR THE ‘KHALSA DARBAR SIKH LEARNING CENTRE’
Nirvair Khalsa Jatha UK initiated Gurmat Parchar during the year 2011 and has continued to selflessly serve the Sikh community since. Predominately aimed at the bilingual generation of Sikhs born and bred in the western countries, the Gurmat Parchar Diwaans in both English and Punjabi have taken place at numerous Gurdwaras across the world.
Acting on the need of the hour and taking into careful consideration the demand of the Sikh Sangat, Nirvair Khalsa Jatha UK has made the decision to headquarter its Gurmat Parchar project from a new UK base in order to take the project forward to new heights.
With Guru Maharaj Ji’s grace, Nirvair Khalsa Jatha UK has secured a site which is to become known as the ‘Khalsa Darbar Sikh Learning Centre’.
Located in the central England city of Coventry, the Khalsa Darbar Sikh Learning Centre will, over time, develop to become a state-of-the-art Gurdwara facility. This facility will fill the many gaps required to reinvigorate the spirit of the next generation of Sikhs.
The Khalsa Darbar Sikh Learning Centre will endeavour to offer a number of services, including but not limited to:
- Gurmat Academy
- Elderly Day Care
- Women's Empowerment
- Pre-wedding Classes
- Mental & Self Awareness
- Fitness & Sports Activities
- Yoga Classes
- Environmental Awareness
- Punjabi Classes
- Gurbani Santhiya
- Dastar-tying Workshops
- Kirtan Classes
- Children’s Crèche
- Gatka Classes
- Educational & Extra Curriculum Classes
- as well as regular Diwaans.
Keys to the site have been acquired on 24 May 2019 and the initial first phase renovation works have already commenced in order to bring the site up to a standard worthy to throne Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. With the support of the Sikh Sangat, the grand opening is projected to take place by the end of July 2019.
Nirvair Khalsa Jatha UK remains to be a not-for-profit organisation with the sole aim of promoting Gurmat Parchar in Punjabi and English and instilling Gurmat values within the Sikh nation. The activities of Nirvair Khalsa Jatha UK have been funded by its volunteers and by the donations from its regular listeners within the Sikh Sangat.
Nirvair Khalsa Jatha UK has never charged for its Gurmat Parchar Diwaans, but due to the nature of this particular project and the preliminary financial burden it will inevitably carry, Nirvair Khalsa Jatha UK now makes an appeal to the UK Sikh Sangat to financially contribute towards the project and become a part of its story.
Bhai Harinder Singh and the Nirvair Khalsa Jatha UK are forever in debt for the continuous support, encouragement and blessings of the Sikh Sangat.
