Funding for the Amateur Road Race Championships
Not quite
Unfortunately this project was not successful.

To raise funding to allow me to enter, travel and compete at the Amateur World Road Race Championships in Varese Italy on September 2nd 2018

by Mark Hill in Varese

I have qualified to represent Great Britain at this year's Amateur Road Race World Championships.  This takes place on Sunday 2nd September 2018 in Varese, Italy.  My intention is to drive there over 2 days, have 2 days at the event including the race itself, then take 2 days to travel back. Travel and accommodation will be in my Iveco LWB Camper van thus negating the need for flights and accommodation.

Costs for this event consist of my Entry Fee, Team GB Cycling Kit and Leisure Clothing for the Event, Insurance both event and travel, cross channel ferry, fuel, tolls and food. My initial costings have put this at no more than £1400, the bulk of my costs being Team clothing and Fuel.

After 40 years of ridng and racing, representing the Royal Navy during my 26 year Military Career, it has been a pinnacle of my Cycle riding to achieve qualification for this event. Feeling that this is an opportunity of a lifetime not to be missed, I am pursuing as many avenues as possible to help raise funds and support me in this amazing opportunity.

Got an idea like this?
