New stretch target

My aim is to break even with this project. Any extra money will buy more time to write and to fund the printing, artwork and peripheral costs of future projects.

Who am I ?

My name is Kathryn Anna Marshall I'm a writer and poet based in Shropshire. I returned to writing following diagnosis with M.E., initially as a way to deal with the challenge of learning how to live with this illness.Whilst I've always written, various things meant that writing creatively was squeezed out.

Over the last couple of years I've had some success by having my work published in online journals and in lit magazines like Mslexia and Popshot, as well as being longlisted for Paper Swans press single poem competition, which has spurred me on. It's been a hard road to get to the point of feeling confident enough in my work to send it out to the world - but here I am and I hope you'll join me.

What's the zine about?

Last year I took a role as poet in residence for a group of local artists, and spent time visiting them in their studios. The poems in the zine are a distillation of this time and this feels like a good time to launch them into the world. The poems explore a range of themes, from the natural beauty of the gorge to the sheer joy of creating art and the freedom that it brings as well as sidesteps into more magical worlds. My goal as a writer is for people to read and enjoy my work, and publishing this first zine is a step towards that.

How will the money be used?

The money used will fund the artwork, printing and peripheral costs of producing the zine.
