There are 63 individual student artists at the University of Leeds who are a part of the Degree Show 'Simmer', set to go ahead in early June 2020. This is a completely student-run show: we are the artists, curators, advertisers, and fundraisers. Without your help, we will not have the right resources to create a show that reflects all of the hard work that we have been putting into our degrees. The arts do not get enough funding, and are often overlooked - we all pay so much money to come to university and have very limited resources given to us for free. Any money that is raised will help us to promote ourselves as artists by showcasing our very best ideas for this exhibition.
We have to completely clear out our 5 story building on our own, re-paint all of the walls, clean the floors, re-arrange all of the objects and furnishings within the building, and then install the artwork that makes up our show. This is a BIG task and will take a lot of time and effort to complete - we don't want a lack of funding to put a negative spin on this major project. What we will learn throughout this experience will stay with us as we head into our careers after graduation. We need to raise money to help us buy the materials that are needed to prepare our building, create and install artwork, and make items such as catalogues that document our project. These costs are really expensive, and the money that you can help us raise will allow each student to pursue their best ideas to put into this show!
All the money that is raised will make a huge positive impact on the Fine Art students at Leeds, so please donate anything you can to help us make this happen!
